Luisa Gonzaga – Partner

Luisa’s area of specialty is occupational health and safety. She provides strategic and practical legal advice on all aspects of Work Health and Safety (WHS) matters. Luisa also provides legal and consulting advice in the areas of Workers Compensation and Return to Work (RTW).Prior to practising as a lawyer, Luisa worked as a nurse, in WorkCover insurance companies and as an OHS consultant, giving her a breadth of experience and a superior level of insight into the complexities of WHS matters.

Luisa has previously advised government departments (Commonwealth and State), independent schools, manufacturing, rail logistics and construction companies. 

As a Partner at Hentys, Luisa can assist you across the following areas:

  • Legal compliance reviews of clients’ existing safety management systems
  • OHS training for all levels of the organisational hierarchy from emplyees, executives to the Board
  • Responding to and assisting clients manage major workplace incidents
  • Responding to and dealing with regulators
  • Representing clients in WHS prosecutions and coronial inquests
  • Conducting of investigations into bullying allegations, and major workplace incidents or accidents

 Luisa holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), Bachelor of Nursing and a Graduate Diploma in Occupational and Environment Health.

We also take this opportunity to introduce to you Jade Hovey, Employment Lawyer.

Jade Hovey – Lawyer

Jade was admitted to the legal profession in December 2017.

Prior to joining Hentys, Jade gained significant experience at various Legal Services, and predominantly worked in Commercial Litigation. She joined Hentys in June 2018 and assists the Employment Law and Occupational Health and Safety team.

Jade prides herself on her ability to provide legal advice in a professional and comprehensive yet personable manner.

Since joining Hentys, Jade has assisted our clients deal with their employment issues applying a practical, pragmatic and commercially sound approach. She has assisted with workplace investigations in relation to workplace incidents, bullying and harassment.

Jade provides strategic advice to employers in relation to their current practice, policies and procedures, and their options when faced with difficult problems. She consistently delivers positive outcomes for clients.
